Singapore, June 2014: The article "Trends in high-performance composites", written by Prof. Klaus Drechsler and Dr. Florian Doetzer from CCS has been published in Aerospace Singapore Magazine's May-August Issue Volume 7 / No.2 / 2014.

The article points out implications and associated trends of recent years' sharp increase in innovation and research and development (R&D), which has been driven mainly by two major industrial developments: the decision to use composites for primary structures of large airliners and the introduction in mass market automobiles.

CCS signs Agreements during German Singaporean Business Forum


Munich, May 8: During German Singaporean Business Forum - a bi-annual event to foster relations between Germany and Singapore - Composite Cluster Singapore Pte Ltd (CCS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, a statutory board under Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The MoU was signed in presence of His Excellency Jai S Sohan, Ambassador of Singapore to Germany, and the two Chairmen of German Singaporean Business Forum, Mr Philip Yeo and Dr Axel Stepken. It formalizes IE Singapore’s support to CCS in identifying projects to help CCS build its technical capabilities and establish a global track record in the composites sector. During the same event, CCS formed two partnerships with German companies, iNDTact and Munich Composites.

Mr Satvinder Singh, Assistant CEO of IE Singapore said, “To help Singapore companies grow overseas, IE Singapore constantly identifies new global trends with relevant business opportunities. We saw the potential of composites sector three years ago, and started preparing our manufacturers by upgrading their technical expertise through partnerships and engaging prospective customers. Our MOU with CCS is another step forward. CCS is forming two partnerships today with German companies, iNDTact and Munich Composites, which attests to the relevance of composites to Singapore manufacturers.”

Dr Florian Doetzer, Managing Director of CCS commented, “The signing of these agreements is a key milestone to further increase our high-tech capabilities in Singapore, and it is also an important asset for our German partners to access the growing markets in Asia.”
